Relationships matter. Relationships determine the quality and trajectory of our lives. “Engage: Living and Loving like Jesus in Your Everyday Relationships” is a six-week teaching series examining the DNA markers of Jesus’ interactions with others. Each of these attributes begins with God and how He engages with us. As we unpack a different aspect of Christ’s character each week, we pray you will experience God’s presence and His Spirit’s transforming power in all your relationships.
PEACE MAKERS — SESSION ONE
As the Prince of Peace, Jesus brought a calmness into every relationship and situation. When we are grounded in our identity and mission as children of God, we can be peacemakers in our community and culture.
GRACE GIVERS — SESSION TWO
Because of God’s amazing grace toward us, we can give grace to others. Like Jesus, we can offer kindness, acceptance, and a welcoming spirit that invites people to relax, be real, and be loved for who they are.
TRUTH TELLERS — SESSION THREE
Jesus calls us to root out hypocrisy, lies, false flattery, pride, and manipulative communications with others. Instead, we must speak truth with humility, grace, simplicity and most of all, love.
WORD KEEPERS — SESSION FOUR
Throughout the Bible, God has been faithful to keep the promises He has made. Just as God keeps His word to us, we want to be people who honor our commitments to others.
FOOT WASHERS — SESSION FIVE
In God’s Kingdom, people are always the highest priority. Jesus modeled humble service throughout His life and called His followers to do the same. Serving others is how we demonstrate obedience to God and love for others.
HOPE BEARERS — SESSION SIX
Jesus is the ultimate hope bearer. His death and resurrection gives hope to all humanity by providing a way from death into eternal life. When we put our trust in God, we can remain hopeful regardless of the circumstances, and share hope with others.
