 Frequently Asked Questions about Online Giving

  • Why do we give to our local church?

    • Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. But it’s even bigger than that. It is a demonstration of our love for God and love for people. We want to use our lives not just to make money, but also to make a difference. By giving we are saying that we do not live to accumulate stuff, but we live to invest in eternity. Our giving helps facilitate our mission and vision. Our giving connects with God’s heart to reach people all over the world with the Good News of Jesus. Our giving supports missionaries and ministries. And our giving tells God that all we own comes from His hand, and that we trust Him to provide for us as we wisely steward our resources to bring glory to Jesus.
  • What are the benefits to online giving?

    • Simplicity – It is easy to give; you can give on a date that works best for you even when you are out of town… and you can set up recurring gifts.
    • Security - Online giving through our merchant account provider, BluPay, meets the current PCI DSS compliance standards.
    • Recurring gifts – this gives you the opportunity to set up repeating gifts based on your schedule preference.
  • What if I want to give to a designated fund?

    • Contact the Church's Accounting Department at (818) 991-8040 and ask for Christian or Toni.
  • Why should I create a calvaryconnection account before giving?

    • By having a calvaryconnection account, you can access your current giving record and your personal information will pre-fill so you don't have re-enter it.  Click here to request a new user account. 
  • Can I give gifts other than cash?

    • Yes, you can give items other than cash such as stocks, real estate, or restricted securities… or give through foundations… If you have questions, please contact Rick Fuselier at (818) 991-8040 or email RickF@Calvarycc.org.  You can also contact the Church's Accounting Department and ask for Kathy.
  • Does Calvary store my credit/debit card or financial institution account information?

    • Your information is not stored by Calvary or by the database provider, it is safely secured by our merchant account and payment gateway provider, BluPay.
  • How do I see a current giving statement?

    • Log on to calvaryconnection
    • Click on the Give icon on the left side of the screen
    • Click on the SCHEDULES/HISTORY tab in the upper center of the screen
    • Click in the Giving Statement button on the upper right of the screen
    • Select the parameters you want to see. Pick the Type (e.g. Family) from the drop down window, and the Date Range you want (e.g. Year to Date, or Last Year) and the types of Tax Deductible transactions (e.g. Deductible Only).
    • Click on the Run Report button.
    • You can also print this page for a hard copy tax receipt.
  • Are there any fees involved with giving online?

    • While there are nominal fees involved, you do not pay anything extra and the costs to the church are offset by the reduction in handling costs.
  • Can I make a one-time contribution?

  • If I want to set up a recurring gift, what are my options for frequency of my gift?

    • You have the option of giving weekly, every two weeks, once a month, quarterly or annually.
  • Can I change my personal information, the amount, or the frequency of my gift once I have set it up?

    • Yes. You can cancel your contribution at any time before the date of your next contribution and then create another recurring gift with the new information. Logon to calvaryconnection using your user name and password and make the necessary changes or call your information into the Church's Accounting Department and ask for Christian or Toni.
  • Will I still receive regular contribution statements from the church?

    • Yes. The church will continue to send year-end contribution statements to your address on file for tax purposes.
